On August 10th, cPanel/WHM announced the official Let’s Encrypt with AutoSSL Plugin via their blog. The new AutoSSL feature allows for the automatic request and installation of a Domain Validated Comodo-signed SSLs for our customers. PeoplesHost also supports Let’s Encrypt on our Windows accounts. What does this mean?

What is Let’s Encrypt?
Let’s Encrypt is an open Certificate Authority (CA) provided by the non-profit group, Internet Security Research Group (ISRG).
ISRG’s goal of the Let’s Encrypt project is to give people digital certificates to enable HTTPS (SSL/TLS) for their websites at no cost in the hopes of helping to create a more safe and secure web.
How can I get a free SSL for my website?
Easy! Once your site is hosted at PeoplesHost we will be able to issue you a free trusted certificate at zero cost. Please note, you must submit a ticket for your request to have AutoSSL enabled on your cPanel account. If you are on a Windows hosting plan, you will also need to submit a ticket to have a Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate issued to your domain. Once the Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate has been issued, it will automatically renew every 90 days.
What type of certificates are available?
The Let’s Encrypt project has made domain-validated (DV) certificates available to be issued. Extended validation certificates are not offered.
